There are answers to multiple frequently asked questions on Thrivent.com, and the following is one of them.

Q: How does Thrivent Financial define "Christian?"

A: Thrivent Financial doesn't define "Christian," just as we don't define "Lutheran." Christian faith is described in the Apostles' Creed, which Lutherans and a majority of Christians have used for hundreds of years to profess their faith. Christians who share these beliefs will be invited to join our organization.
